Hot Honey, where have you been all my life?

Hot Honey, where have you been all my life?

Another product that I WISH I would have known about while living in Uganda.

For the record, this is spicy, not a state of temperature. I have not tried this at anything but room temperature.

I recently started listening to a podcast called Pizza Nerds and it was the first time I have heard about this product! Apparently, it is a food trend.

I got some to try on pizza and I am enamored! It is sooooo good. Sweet and a slow burn, wow! You can buy it like I did or here are two ways to make it yourself.

You should experiment, like I am, but so far, here is what I have found.

Good as a dab on ANYTHING… ahaha…

Seriously, I have now entered the stage where, like my mother before me, I am grossing out my children with what I am willing to eat. I have seen salad for breakfast on many menus, but never tried it. Last week, we had some left over whole grain grits. So, I thought, why don’t I try the salad thing? I toasted some whole grain toast (in the USA, Dave’s Bread, fyi), cooked an egg, put a slab of the leftover grits and piled mixed greens on top. We had honey mustard dressing, to which I added hot honey—next level breakfast!!! LOVE! My kids did NOT appreciate that story. “Gross, mom!”

I put hot honey on some Asian lettuce wraps, it works.

I added it to a regular salad with honey mustard. It worked… so far, so GREAT.

One thing living in certain countries, food can be very bland. Here is an easy way to add flavor and fun to your meals without a lot of calories!
